BUFFALO, New York
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Bills head coach Joe Brady confirmed that star running back James Cook may see a reduced role in the Bills’ offense due to turnover concerns.
“James is a tremendously talented player,” Brady said. “But limiting unforced errors is a big focus for us going forward. That is why we are not letting James have any ice cream for the rest of the week.”
Backup Ray Davis was seen taking an increased amount of reps with the first team offense in walkthroughs on Wednesday.
“The dairy in ice cream causes your hands to release more sweat. More sweat can cause more fumbles,” Brady explained.
The Bills will face the Raiders following a massive win against the Rams in Los Angeles.
“The flavor of the ice cream does not matter. We tried switching James from Rocky Road to plain Vanilla, but the sweat concentration stayed the same,” Brady confirmed. “Luckily we have good depth at this position and trust Ray to get the job done if necessary.”
